“a refined touch and an all-rounded musical personality”
Ning Hui is a pianist and musicologist recognised for her thoughtful concert programming and interpretations of music by underrepresented composers. She maintains a multi-faceted career in performance, research, and both practical and academic teaching. Ning Hui is currently an adjunct lecturer at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (University of the Arts Singapore).
“Her recitals have been platforms for promoting much-neglected women composers. In 2018, she gave what must have been the Singapore premiere of Clara Schumann’s Piano Sonata in G minor. See’s performance [on 2 December 2023] revealed a keen insight and intellectual nous that is all too rare among artists. It was lovely to hear and see this young artist again, one who has matured over the years, and whose serious yet intensely musical approach to a life of performance and education remains refreshing and inspiring.”
A specially commissioned digital concert by Kris Foundation Singapore, featuring an all-Clara Schumann programme, interwoven with nuggets of historical and biographical context. Filmed in London.
